Dear Northwest, we are the newly formed Northwest Area Journalism & Media Club. We were officially approved by the school board as of June 25th, and plan to start up for the 26-27 school year.
We want to entertain and inform the student body and local community on school events, sports, and announcements, as well as provide journalism and media skills to members of the club.
We hope to provide physical newspaper copies, online articles, social media posts, and short video segments for our online sources.
We currently have three departments for members of the club to be a part of: writing, media, and editorial. Members do not have to stay in one department; members can shift between roles depending on area of interest. The writing department would include opportunities to: write articles, interview, write scripts, and make comics. The media department would include photoing and videoing school/local events, as well as help produce video projects. The editorial department would include proofreading articles, as well as formatting and editing the newspaper, both online and print.
